It is HIGHLY possible to have the symptoms, but not have the outbreak.

      Yes.

But why would you assume herpes if you may have the flu?

    • Mike R:

Yes. Anything is posible. You can also get flu symptoms and not have herpes. Go get tested and stop stressing.

I cant prove it but I would say yes. I have it and I feel the flu sympotoms quite often but have only had a couple outbreaks. Its terrible and I hate it. Im always so tired and I get weak and have back pain all the time. I really wish they would find a cure for this horrible std.

      Absolutely.

I was diagnosed 3 months ago. I have to tell you I have never been so tired in all my life. Luckily, I had an outbreak. I was putting it off thinking I was getting a flu.

45% of men and women in the U.S. have genital herpes and 90% of them don’t know.

STD screenings usually do not include a herpes test and has to be specifically asked for. Since I’ve been diagnosed I’m working with my local community to try to get these tests included. There’s no reason that they shouldn’t test for it. All it is is a blood sample UNLESS somebody is having an outbreak. Then they do an actual culture from the sores.

If you think you may be at risk for herpes, you may want to go get tested! Make sure to ask for a herpes test!

      Hope I helped!

Yes I suppose you can, it could be just the flu if you don’t have an out break. Also some people don’t get a lot of symptoms or very mild out breaks. Those symptoms typically occur with an initial out break. The first out break is usually the worst, you don’t always get flu like symptoms with every out break but every one that gets herpes gets affected by it differently.
